A mid-Showa piece from a once well-loved minshuku (family-run inn) in Shizuoka, this vintage porcelain lidded bowl is made of Japanese Arita porcelain. The family kept the bowls after shutting shop in the 1980s, but just didn't find a use for them since. The rich blue base glaze is hand painted with red and gold motifs that their previous owner says are traditional patterns of good fortune — something they wanted to present to guests at the dinner table.
