SHINSHA MATCHA BOWL
Regular price £38.00
The Shinsha Matcha Bowl takes its name from the Japanese for cinnabar—the deep, red pigment long associated with Japanese temples, protective talismans and traditional crafts. Here, that iconic hue is softened into an earthy, mineral red, brought to life with a textured mottled glaze and organic, slate-silver lines that shimmer in the light. Cinnabar symbolises protection, success and a steady, grounded energy—qualities that pair beautifully with the slow ritual of preparing Japanese matcha.

Mino-yaki, believed to be the oldest form of artistic pottery produced in Japan, dates back to the Nara Period 710-794. Produced in the old Mino Province, in present-day Gifu Prefecture, it became popular for traditional tea ceremony vessels. Today, the styles of Mino-yaki are as varied as they are beautiful — from the warm rustic glazes of hand-thrown traditional Kiso Seto, Black Seto, Shino and Oribe ware to the soft pastels of modern tableware.
