Traditional orimono textiles are the inspiration behind Style of Japan's Oedo chopsticks, their asymmetrical colour-blocking reminiscent of Oedo Ichimatsu — a woven pattern named after the chequered attire of Edo-Period Kabuki actor Sanogawa Ichimatsu. The warm colours are those of nature, and each pair is coated with a lightly textured, easy grip finish that makes them dishwasher safe.

Style of Japan is based in Obama, Fukui Prefecture, where 80% of Japan's lacquered chopsticks are crafted. Their chopsticks combine contemporary aesthetics with traditional tableware, while holding the deepest respect for Fukui’s 400-year history of artisanship. Designs span from the minimalist to vibrant and playful, and environmentally friendly practices are at the forefront of Style of Japan, which include using woods sustainably sourced from local forest thinning projects.
