Crafted by glass artisans in Tokyo, Usuhari Burgundy Glasses are hand blown into moulds and individually polished and finished. Stemless and seamlessly smooth, they are a delight to cup in the hands. Usuhari means "thin glass," and artisans Shotoku Glass has perfected the art of blowing ultra fine pieces. Each of its Usuhari crystal glass series is less than a millimeter thin, making them light, elegant and yet still remarkably strong.

Originally founded as a Tokyo lightbulb maker in 1922, Shotoku Glass is known for its skill at hand-blowing ultra-thin glassware. It now produces a range of contemporary tableware, still using blowing and hand-finishing techniques for designs that focus on the natural beauty of uncoloured crystal glass.
