A single chime from the Kuon Madoka Acorn Singing Bowl Chime can perfect a moment of relaxation, meditation or reflection. We love that this petite bell is shaped as an acorn. It's small enough to fit in the palm of the hand, yet its long, clear ring is fine-tuned to the same exceptional quality of Buddhist altar singing bowls.
Made by artisans in Takaoka, Japan’s historical centre of metal casting, each singing bell is crafted with the same skills used to produce traditional Japanese Buddhist altar fittings. Its lightly textured surface is elegantly tumble polished and its tiny clapper is hidden beneath the walnut wood acorn cap. Simply lift the cap and gently swing the clapper to strike the bowl.
Kisen, the lifestyle brand behind Kuon singing bowls, collaborates with several artisans in Takaoka, Japan’s hub of casting manufacturing with over 400 years of metalworking history. Its Kuon lineup focuses on items inspired by both traditional and innovative metalworking and woodworking techniques. Directed by Yotsukawa Seisakusho, originally a foundry itself that still produces traditional items, Kisen designs combine minimalist and contemporary aesthetics with the beauty of nurturing Buddhist mindfulness.
