Take a closer look at the bold red dots of the Musubi Seven Treasures furoshiki wrapping cloth, and you'll find a secret lucky pattern united with their backdrop of pearlescent white and beige.

The crimson dots form part of a Japanese Shippo Tsunagi pattern of intersecting circles, representing the Seven Treasures of Buddhist scripture: Gold, silver, lapis lazuli, crystal, agate, red pearl and carnelian. Symbolic of harmony, prosperity and happy relationships, it's a stunning contemporary iteration of a traditional auspicious design. Perfect for wrapping an extra special gift!

In 2005, the Kyoto-based Musubi opened its first store dedicated to furoshiki in Tokyo, but it has been designing and making the wrapping cloths for decades. Now working with various other furoshiki makers in Kyoto and collaborating with numerous designers and illustrators, it produces an eclectic range of vibrant patterns and styles — from traditional to geometrically modern. Every design takes in consideration types of fabric and printing processes, and if not made by the company itself, is carefully matched with the ideal maker.
