NiMi Projects is our passion project of contemporary design, but it's also a celebration of traditional Japanese crafts and industries steeped in history.

So much design inspiration draws from the past — materials, production techniques, shape and form — and we admire it all.

So yes, we love vintage goods!

For NiMi Objects, we will be rolling out curated collections of our finds, all sourced in Japan.

Vintage items are inspiring, unique and there is something wonderful about owning something pre-loved and cared for.

We scoured small stores, markets and even asked friends and family in Japan for this hand-picked selection of items. Some date back to the 1940s, many are mid-century and others, we admit, we can't date, but we just loved the look of them.

We are not antique experts, so our information is gleaned from conversations with previous owners and sellers. But we think that makes them even more special.
