Each one of these simple Japanese tea cups is unique and hand-glazed in a different colour and texture. Their previous owner confesses to not remembering much about them, aside from discovering that they had just sat in the cupboard “for a very long time.”
Our favorite is the minimalist white one — it has minuscule protrusions in the base clay that create the subtle detail of a speckled texture. The other two are splashed with contrasting glazes for a warm rustic feel. Dark brown with white, white with tan.
They may be Japanese teacups, but they’re also perfect for a cup of warm wine or a generous serving of sake.
