GEOMETRIC GOLD LEAVES WHITE PORCELAIN TEAPOT & CUP (MID-CENTURY)
Regular price £85.00
The geometric leaf design and smooth shape of this 1960s-80s Japanese teapot immediately drew our attention. From a distance, the gold squares seem like an abstract pattern, but up-close you'll discover the hand-painted brushstrokes highlight a delicate lilac outline of autumnal leaves.
Made from satin-finished porcelain in minimalist white, we think this piece is timeless. It feels luxurious to the touch, yet its bamboo handle emphasizes its hand-crafted artisanship. We only lament that we could only find one cup to match it.
For us, the modernist interpretation of nature had us thinking about Ceramic Japan's hashioki cutlery rest's minimalist iterations of leaves and branches.
