CELADON KANNYU JAPANESE TEA CUP (MID-LATE SHOWA) SOLD OUT
Regular price £15.00
These celadon Kannyu crackle glaze, classic Japanese teacups are from the Showa Era (1928-1989). Their rustic earthenware bases are subtly visible beneath the glossy translucent green glaze, purposely cracked for an air of simple luxury.
First introduced to Japan around the 12th century, the soft jade-green effect colour of celadon glaze is often featured in Japanese traditional crafts. A hue that alludes to clear waters, it is often used for Japanese tea-ceremony ware.
