MASHIKO COUNTRY CUP AND SAUCER (LATE SHOWA) - SOLD OUT
Regular price £18.00
Bought in Japan’s pottery town of Mashiko but never used, these cup and saucers hark back to Japan’s postwar coffee and cafe boom. Each one is hand crafted, its gently raised pattern revealing the natural colour of clay beneath a white glaze. The saucer, like many Japanese coffee-cup saucers, doesn’t have an indent for the cup. Instead, it’s flat, with a textured surface to allow it to also be used as a small square plate.
There’s a rustic but sweet feel to these that we adore — perfectly imperfect and soft rounded aesthetics.
