We are delighted to have master Ikebana artisan Hanako Motoko join us at our NiMi Loft event space in Sevenoaks.
Learn the traditional craft of Japanese flower arranging, an art form with over 600 years of history. Since the Muromachi Period (1336 – 1573), ikebana has been a canon of Japanese beauty, its distinctive styles steeped in history and nurtured by culture to evolve into the refined arrangements we still see today. It's a spiritual and symbolic pastime, reflecting our own relationship with the forces of nature, its beauty and seasons.
Florist Hanako Motoko has over 25 years of ikebana teaching experience, having studied at the Ohara School of Ikebana, one of several schools of Japanese flower arranging. Her class includes all the materials needed and you'll take home your own arrangement, complete with vase and kenzan (flower frog).
