TOKYO JUTAKU - AN ARCHITECT'S GAME

Regular price £45.00

Tax included. Shipping calculated at checkout.

An ode to Japanese architecture, Tokyo Jutaku’s geometric wooden pieces, minimalist graphic cards and compact design makes it the most stylish game we’ve ever played.

Become one of Japan’s top contemporary architects, from the high-profile Kengo Kuma or Tadao Ando to the inventive young generation of Sou Fujimoto and Go Hasegawa. There are eight architects to choose from, all innovative and renowned.

Gameplay is simple. Move your architect across a board of site cards. Pick a site, then construct an unusual building on it using pieces picked from a central pile. You’ll need design smarts, though, as each site has building requirements that must be followed — from the placement and number of pieces to the height of the finished building. The tougher the requirements, the higher value of the property. Create the most valuable buildings to win the game.

This is a fab introduction to some of Japan’s best architects, looks stunning and is just as fun to play for anyone with a love of design.

Most of his games are inspired by Japanese aesthetics and experiences. What we love about Jordan, too, is his strong ethics code. His games are ethically and sustainably made, and explore biodegradable and recyclable materials. To see more of them, check out our Books and Games section.
