We genuinely didn't want to part with these when we received them. Made in the mid- to late Showa Era, these handmade rounded dessert glass bowls are frosted like cloudy ice, their edges trimmed with a vibrant blue that melts into the design.
Their silky matt surfaces are so smooth to the touch, they are a delight to cup in the hands. Look close, and tiny bubbles trapped in the glass add another delicate detail.
Imagine dollops of ice cream and fresh fruits cupped in these. Or, if you're like the previous owner, who loved them enough to only display them, they're perfect to house valued trinkets.
